CHRISTIAN REFORMED

"...And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God."
Dear Friend,
The season of Lent reminds us of the renewal that came through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Lent is a time to prepare for the coming of Easter and to celebrate the gift of redemption. Lent is also a time to search for ways we can be part of God’s work of redemption and renewal in our world. This lent we challenge you to pray for the needs in our world while working to be the answer to those prayers.
As we search for those things that need renewal here and now we find the global economic crisis gives us much to reflect on. While each of us is affected by these hard times, it is the people around the world living on less than $1/day, facing hunger, thirst and often illness, who bear the greatest burden of this crisis. These injustices groan to be made new.
This Lenten season we ask you to join Christians around the nation in praying for our world to be made new. Gather your family, friends and church members together in praying for the most crucial needs in our world--- You can use the Millennium Development Goals as your guide (info on prayer guide below). In your church or on your campus you can publicly pray the "Prayer for Justice, Mercy, and Humility".
Just think how much could change if each us would be the answer to our prayers and take on the prophet Micah’s challenge to “act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God” Micah 6:8. As you pray in the coming months for renewal in our world, examine how you can be the answer.
God Bless,
The Micah Challenge US Team
